Cloud Platform Manager

120-150K base salary

Our client is seeking a multifaceted, inquisitive and positive Cloud Platform Manager responsible for the day-to-day leadership of cloud engineers and administrators who manage public cloud, custom services, chargeback, and logging across Public Cloud environments. Overall accountability for defining the service, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with agreed business requirements, and managing the service lifecycle – in conjunction with the Cloud Centre of Excellence, the cloud product owner, cloud engineering, cloud operations, cloud migration services, and application development teams proficiently.

What You’ll do

  • Manage a team of 5+ technical Cloud Engineers
  • Coordinate Public Cloud environments and services
  • Coordinate & support our centralized logging & cost management platforms
  • Provide and contribute cloud native operational excellence with a customer centric approach, measuring and continuously improving the customer experience by implementing secure, highly available and scalable services on Public Cloud
  • Understand the technical aspects of our platforms to own the creation and management of operational processes

What you’ll bring

  • University degree in either Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT
  • Min 3 years within a leadership role in large corporate environments leading diverse and global teams across geographies & time zones.
  • Ability to perform high complexity tasks in a multifaceted environment
  • Outstanding experience with cloud platforms: Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure
  • A background in PaaS/SaaS environment practices, including: maintaining SLAs, load-balancing, high availability, networking, and security management/patching
  • Strong technical understanding in a variety of hardware and software platforms (Kubernetes, Linux, & Windows)
  • Experience with the operational aspects of systems such as monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting with relevant tools
  • Experience with IaC systems and tools
  • Understanding of modern, cloud centric architectures and DevOps principles
  • Experience working with one or more of: Python, GO, groovy, Java
  • Outstanding mentoring, collaborative and leadership skills
